Grove Road is running left to right with a view north down Colville Road to the left. In the foreground is a section of the vegetable allotments. Grove Road was named after the grove of trees called Springhead Plantation, that was on the opposite side of the road from where the houses were built.

14 Grove Road, with Rosalie Bradfield in the doorway

Rosalie Bradfield née Hewgill, was the oldest of 5 children. Her siblings were John, Billie, Charlie and Elsie.

My mother was born in 14 Grove Road on 14th October 1922 and lived there until she was 11 when her mother died. Her mother Rosalie Bradfield was church organist at Burgh Parva and was buried there. Rosalie's brothers played for Melton Constable Football club and she played piano for Melton Constable choir. Her father was Charles Aubrey Bradfield and worked for the railway.
